The challenge
Attendance and follow-up in a growing church is easy to lose track of on paper or in scattered spreadsheets — a first-time visitor who isn't followed up with quickly rarely comes back.
The approach
ChurchCare is a multi-tenant Laravel and Livewire application built around members, households, attendance, follow-ups, prayer requests, and messaging. Attendance runs through purpose-built check-in components — a QR/search scanner, bulk group check-in, and a token-based self-check-in page — that update reactively as ushers record entries and automatically re-flag returning inactive members as visitors. Outbound communication runs through a queued job that dispatches WhatsApp messages via the Meta Cloud API, SMS through a pluggable provider factory, or email, with delivery and reply status tracked back through a webhook handler.
